Planning and Pricing Your Event

 When it comes down to it, bottom line for most customers is "What is it going to cost?" Many caterers give you a set menu or selection of set menus with set prices, and usually, very little flexability. I want to give my clients whatever they want, if possible, in whatever combinations that work for them. With this however is the understanding that I don't have a "set" price for any one menu. I have found that several factors come into play when trying to "work up" a proposal for an individual's event.

Some of the questions needing answers when planning an event for you are as follows:

  • When and where is the event to be held - address if you have it.
  • Travel time/Distance from Napa to Event site. 
  • Does the site have a kitchen for use?
  • What is the approximate time for service?
  • How many guests are you planning to serve? How many of them will be children?
  • Do you want appetizers - if so, what kind and how many different ones?
  • Do you want someone to just cook only? (See pricing page)
  • Do you want someone to purchase and cook entree only? (See pricing page)
  • Main meat entree - how many different ones and what kind?
  • Are there Vegetarians to consider?
  • How many side dishes do you want and what kind?
  • Is a bread to be served (rolls/cornbread/garlic bread/french or italian loaf)?
  • Dessert?
  • Beverages? Do you need a bartender (Due to ABC laws, I am unable to provide alcohol - but am able to provide you with a bartender if you need one).
  • Will the event be sit down or buffet?
  • Will tables/chairs be provided or do I need to rent them on your behalf?
  • Are linens and tablecloths needed?
  • Plates, service ware, and glasses - are they to be rented or can we use high quality throwaway?

As you can see - a lot of factors figure into a price quote. I also have contacts for event sites, bands and other entertainment, equipment, photographers, limousines or other transportation needs, florists, and other event requirements besides the food.
